Knits & Pearls Is Looking For A New Owner
Having the store has been one of my dreams come true. My chance to get to know all our wonderful and supportive customers and indulge in my favorite pastime has been an experience I have cherished. Due to my husband's health and pending retirement I would like to sell or add partners to the store.
During my husband's illness we realized there are things we wanted to experience and places we wish to see while we still can. My priority must be my family and the store deserves more love and attention than I can give it.
We are well established here with a wonderful customer base. The staff is very experienced, creative and helpful. The teachers are the best I have encountered anywhere. I would really like to see the store continue. Maybe there is someone out there who shares my dream.
If anyone is interested in either buying the store or becoming a partner please contact Adrianne at Adrianne@myknitsandpearls.com.
Your friend in knitting,
Adrianne
What Classes Would You Sign Up For?
As we begin to plan and budget our busy summer time, we wondered
what classes would make you clear a spot in your schedule this summer.
Send an e-mail to adrianne@myknitsandpearls.com
and let us know. Choose from some of the ideas we've brainstormed
below, or include your own. We want to know what projects or techniques
you want to learn how to do. For your time we'll send you back a
coupon for 10% off your next purchase of regular priced store merchandise.

Also let us know if you'd be interested in joining a group dedicated
to charity knitting projects hosted at Knits &
Pearls, or if you'd be interested in attending clinics
on a different day and time than we presently offer.
May 2012 Class Schedule
We know that as the summer approaches peoples' availablility to
attend classes is less certain. With that in mind we're scheduling
fewer knitting classes since those classes often require several
sessions. That being said, if you have a group of four or more people
who are interested in a particular class or project we are always
happy to host your class and provide an instructor when it's convenient
for you. Call the store to schedule.
Please remember that we request you please sign up and pay in advance
by calling or visiting the store; this helps us ensure we have ample stock of
the class supplies on hand. Classes will be canceled if they do not have the
minimum registered participants in advance of the class. Payments made for classes
that are cancelled will be applied toward future classes. For more detail, please
call the store.
All classes are 6-8pm and 2 hours long, unless otherwise
noted.
To help you identify the classes that best fit your skill level,
we'll start to include these difficulty icons with the class descriptions: Beginner requires
no previous experience; you'll be learning how to use the basic
tools to practice the basic techniques. Advanced Beginner
requires knowledge of and experience with the basic tools and skills.
For knitting you'll need to know knitting, purling, increases, decreases,
casting on, and binding off. For beading you'll need to know how
to identify and use chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers, flat-nose
pliers, crimping pliers, and wire cutters, and the loop-and-wrap
and basic stringing techniques. You'll be using the basic tools
to expand and your palette of techniques and increase your comfort
level by reptititvely practicing those techniques. Intermediate requires
the ability to carry out beginner and skills without assistancem
and advanced beginner skills with very little assistance. Experienced requires
a working knowledge of a wide range of techniques.
